You’re Not To Blame

I love this quote from Julia Cameron:

"When hit by creative loss, we must learn to ask the right question:

'What next?' instead of 'Why me?'"

It strikes me to be true about any type of loss.

In my coaching world, I have often met with clients who felt to blame for “attracting” the end of a relationship.

Even the death of a loved one.

Some ask: “What did I do to bring this on?"

The ego is always ready to blame.

And there is such a huge mis-understanding about our power to create reality and the role that Thought plays.

I began to see through my own experience of loss that I had a choice with Thought.

I could either use my thinking against myself or for myself and when I did the latter I got better.

The words of Syd Banks also comforted me:

“Life is a contact sport, we’re going to get our knocks.”

What if we could see that more deeply?

Take the personal out of it.

Realise that loss is loss and part of what we will all experience here.

Our ability to get back up and dance with this game of life is what matters.

And, boy, can we dance when not lost in thoughts like “Why me?" ❤️
